Novice C are the LCMHL Playoffs Champions!!!

The Novice C Thunder shutdown a determined Richmond Royals team to win the 2010 LCHL playoffs!

A tight series was decided on Sunday in front of a huge and boisterous crowd of family and friends at the Richmond arena.  The Thunder opened the scoring with a goal by Jack Robinson assisted by Aidan Gallagher in the first period. Colby Drummond who has been solid all year dazzled the crowd with some big saves in goal during the early going to preserve the lead.  Aydon McCartney added the second goal to give the Thunder to a two goal lead. Richmond, not going down without a fight, battled back with a goal of their own to make the score 2-1. Mid way through the third period the Thunder’s specialty team kicked into high gear and netted a power play goal by Alexander Snow to seal the win and the Championship!

An incredible team effort was rewarded with the Champion banner.

The win capped off a great season and I would like to thank coaches Warren Robinson, Paul LeRoy, Todd Gallagher, trainer Dave Elgood, managers Kevin McCartney, Lisa Giffin, and Terra Drummond and all of the parents for all their help and support throughout the season.

Most of all, I would like to thank all the players for working so hard, having lots of fun, and making my job a wonderful experience.
