Jamie Raycroft Foundation
 In November of 1999, at the beginning of his Major Midget year with the M idget A-House team, the Raycroft family along with the Almonte and Pakenham communities suffered the tragic loss of Jamie Raycroft. The following summer, Jamie's family, Donnie, MaryAnn, Kimberly, and Stephanie, along with the Byrne family and many friends and relatives, started the Jamie Raycroft Foundation in Jamie's memory. Through the Annual Jamie Raycroft Memorial Golf Tournament, the Jamie Raycroft Foundation raises significant funding in support of minor hockey in Mississippi Mills.
The efforts of Jamie's family and friends have been overwhelming in the past few years. Most organized sports today require significant financial committment from families to allow their children to participate in sport. These expenses have prevented some families from registering their children in sports. It is the goal of the Jamie Raycroft Foundation to help keep the cost of playing hockey down in our community and to allow more young players the opportunity to play this great game.
The next time you are at the arena, you may want to take notice of the Jamie Raycroft Memorial Banner hanging along side his team's league championship and playoff championship banners from that season.

| The 10th annual Jamie Raycroft Memorial Golf Tournament was held Saturday June 6th 2009 at the Pakenham Highlands Golf course. A great day of fun and laughter for all those who attended. The day ended with a superb meal supplied by Kevin Puddington and his crew at the Civitan Hall. Our heartfelt thanks to Don & MaryAnn, Kim and Stephanie and their entire organizing committee for a job well done. Proceeds from this tournament were presented to the APMHA. The total raised was $9,200.00 bringing the total over 10 years to $75,000 donated to the Almonte Pakenham Minor Hockey Association to be applied towards the foundation's goal. |
Jamie Raycroft Midget A House Tournament
Since 1999, the winners of the Almonte Pakenham Midget A House tournament have been awarded the Jamie Raycroft Memorial Trophy. The trophy was donated by the Raycroft family in Jamie's memory.
The Jamie Raycroft Memorial Trophy is on display in the trophy case in the main lobby of the Almonte arena. |
