Evaluation & Sort out message

We recognize that hockey evaluations and sort outs can be challenging and emotional experiences for both players and parents. As we move into the season, we want families to feel confident and informed about the roster placement process.

To support transparency, APMHA is offering families the opportunity to connect for a brief post-evaluation debrief. This is an opportunity to better understand how the evaluation and placement process worked and to ask questions about your player's placement.

During the debrief, families may review and discuss their own player's evaluation and placement. To respect the privacy of all players, information about another player's evaluation, scores, placement, or results will not be shared.

Roster decisions consider a number of factors and are made with the long-term development of both players and teams in mind. We also want to recognize and sincerely thank the many volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to the evaluation process. Many hours of preparation, evaluation, discussion, and coordination go into creating a successful process, and we care deeply about making it a positive experience for everyone involved.
