Team Photo Day – On-Ice Photo Process & FAQ

With team photos coming up, we know there have been quite a few questions surrounding the new on-ice photo process this year. I've put together the FAQ below to help clarify what to expect and ensure everyone is on the same page heading into photo day.

Our goal is to make this a fun, organized and, most importantly, safe experience for all players.

1. Will players be skating around the ice without helmets?

Absolutely not! Player safety is our top priority. No players will be skating around the ice without helmets. Players will remain seated on the bench until it is their turn to have their individual photo taken.

2. How will players get onto the ice for their individual photos?

Players will be asked to sit on the bench and come out one at a time when directed. Coaches and assistant coaches will be there to help players get on and off the ice safely. Some players may need a little help, while others may need a lot more, and that's perfectly okay!

3. How will this work for U7 teams?

U7 photos will be taken right beside the bench area. This means our youngest players will only need to take one step onto the ice and one step back off. We want to keep this as simple and comfortable as possible for them.

4. What is expected from coaches and assistant coaches?

We need all coaches and assistant coaches to be hands-on and actively involved throughout the photo process. Having the entire coaching staff present and involved will help ensure players are supported, the process stays organized, and, above all, everyone remains safe.

We also ask that coaches reinforce the process and expectations with their players ahead of time. Players should understand that they are to remain on the bench until called, wait for their turn, and follow the direction of the coaches and photographer.

5. What if a player is nervous or needs extra assistance?

No problem! Coaches and assistants should be prepared to help players who may be uncomfortable or need additional support getting on and off the ice. We want every player to feel comfortable and included.

6. Do sibling photos need to be booked in advance?

No! Sibling photos do not need to be booked ahead of time. We simply ask that players who are having sibling photos make sure their siblings are present and ready to go when it is time for sibling photos at the end of the session.

7. What is expected from team managers?

Managers, we will need your help on photo day as well! Please plan to be available to help keep things running smoothly, including collecting completed payment/order forms from families and ensuring everything is organized and ready to go.

Having managers available to assist with the administrative side of things will allow coaches to focus on their players and help the photographer keep things moving.

A Final Reminder

This is a new process for us this year, and we appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we work through it.
